Exclusive Q & A with our Cover Star Lucian Perez of Wonder Woman: 1984

Small but mighty.

Lucian Perez is here. And he is most definitely here to stay!

Many child actors can only dare to dream of acting in major movies in a key role.  For Lucian, the dream recently became a reality.  Wonder Woman:1984 is a film that is major on so many levels. The action packed film has exceeded expectations bringing in “$16.7M with [the] highest box office opening during COVID” according to the NY Post

With the move in Hollywood to portray women as strong leads and the opportunity for the cast to shine in a film part of a legacy that has a strong fan base, the film is so major for so many reasons and will be referenced for years to come.

Wonder Woman: 1984 is the follow up to the 2017 hit Wonder Woman and is the ninth installment in the DC Extended Universe. Despite two-thirds of movies being closed due to the pandemic, the film has had a wildly strong showing as a dual release.  And due to the success it is being said that third installment is on its way sooner than expected!

Tubefilter heralds the film success highlighting that:

Wonder Woman 1984 lassoed “nearly half” of HBO Max’s paying subscribers on Christmas Day, Warner Media has revealed [and that…] the sequel to Patty Jenkins’ acclaimed 2017 film “broke records and exceeded our expectations across all of our key viewing and subscriber metrics in its first 24 hours on the service,” Andy Forssell, Warner Media’s EVP/GM of direct-to-consumer, said in a statement.

The film has given Lucian the chance to have his acting skills and bright energy on display at the highest level of artistry. Perez plays the role of Alistair, the son of Maxwell Lord.

Kid actor Lucian Perez is on every one’s radar and there is no surprise! During difficult times child entertainers like Shirley Temple helped to bring a sense of optimism and happiness to the American public. Child entertainers help bring storylines to life and reflect the narratives and emotions of the youngest members of our society and families.

Perez’s smile is infectious and we delve deeper to learn a bit about what it takes behind the scenes to make him tick.

For our shoot Lucian gets playful in casual denim looks which are perfect for fun spunky personality. Perez shows off how to keep it cool, causal and playful yet edgy.

We are pleased to have caught up with one of Hollywood’s newest and youngest bright stars for an exclusive interview! Get to know more about Lucian Perez!

What role does your family play in supporting you behind the scenes?

My parents help me break down scenes and work on characters, and they also drive me everywhere, take me to shoots, which takes a lot of time. And they tell me all the time to believe in myself and always follow my dreams.

With so much buzz surrounding your big screen debut Cachet Junior is positive that you are already booked for something very major very soon! What are your upcoming projects?

I have a couple of awesome projects coming up, but unfortunately, I’m not allowed to talk about them yet.

What did you enjoy most about your experience with filming Wonder Woman: 1984? How did you face any challenges? What did you do for preparation?

That’s kind of a hard question cause there were so many great things about working on “Wonder Woman: 1984.”Probably the thing I enjoyed most was working with Patty and Pedro and the rest of the cast and crew. They are such incredible people and everyone was so nice to me. I had to smack myself in the face sometimes because it seemed like such a dream.

I was nervous at first because it was my first movie, and it was such a huge one, but the nerves went away after being on set cause everyone made me feel at home.

Another challenge was that because everything was so secretive, I didn’t get my scenes until a little bit before filming, so to prepare I just kept reading it over and over and focused on what Alistair wants and why.

What are you currently watching?

“The Mandalorian” of course. I also really like “Are You Afraid of the Dark,” even though it really scared me and I’m excited for Season 2 of “Home Before Dark.”

Tell us about your experience in Wonder Woman: 1984 and any other projects you recently worked on and enjoyed.

“WW84” was such a surreal experience. I didn’t know what I was auditioning for, and I didn’t know until after I booked it that it was “WW84.” Then I found out I got to shoot in Washington, DC and London for most of the summer. It was all so exciting because I had never even shot a job on location before. I got to travel and work on the biggest movie ever, and I was only seven at the time. It was unbelievable.

How was the experience on set with the cast of Wonder Woman: 1984?

On “WW84,” I was mostly working with Pedro Pascal, and he was super cool and funny, and I learned a lot from watching him act.

You have acted alongside major actors and actresses. What lessons have you learned?

I’ve learned that you have to be prepared and work hard, and that you have to listen and react because each take can bring something new.

How did you get into acting?

My parents are both actors, and when I was little I did a commercial with my dad and sister, and then I started really enjoying it and learning how to act.

When did you first start acting and how has your journey been as an actor?

Even though I was doing commercials when I was younger, this is really my first big acting job. So I feel like it’s just beginning, and I’m excited for the journey.

Tell us a bit about your family life and daily schedule when you balance school and acting.

I’m homeschooled, which makes it a lot easier to balance everything. Sometimes I have to finish my schoolwork at night if I have a lot of auditions, so I have to be flexible.

What would be the ideal collaboration for you and who within the industry would it involve? Who would be a dream of yours to work with in a television show or movie?

I would love to write and star in my own movie with my sisters one day, and I would love to work with Patty more, because she’s awesome. It would be a dream to work with Lin-Manuel Miranda on a musical, because I love to sing and I’m a huge fan of “Hamilton.”

How have you coped with the pandemic this year? What do you miss most? What message do you have for other kids struggling with feeling isolated from their peers, friends and normal life routines?

I’ve tried to find other ways to connect with my friends since I can’t see them in person. A lot of FaceTime, I call my friends and we play video games together, or just talk, or do Lego challenges. The thing I miss most is just being able to hang out with my friends and cousins in person.

Every night when I go to bed my parents ask me two questions — What was the best part of your day? and What are you grateful for? It has really helped me during the pandemic. I think it helps to find things you’re grateful for. And also to talk to your friends or family if you’re feeling sad.

How have you collaborated with other kids your age on social media?

I’m really new to social media, but I’m looking forward to collaborating with other kids, especially with music.

Which is your favorite app and why? Tik Tok or Instagram?!

I only have an Instagram account right now, so Instagram!

What do you do to boost your confidence or pick yourself up?

I listen to music. It always makes me feel good.

What is your favorite movie of all time and why?

“The Sandlot” cause it’s hilarious and I love baseball.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I have no idea. :O But hopefully doing something awesome and great.

What words of advice do you have for other young artist and entertainers looking to get into this industry?

Work hard, be patient and make sure you love what you do.

If you could pass on one message to your fans what message would that be?

Be yourself and go for it, whatever it is you want to do.
